My First Giveaway!

Ok, so I've been blogging for about a month now, and I've been reading tons of other peoples blogs too. I have noticed that many people do giveaways, and it's a fun thing to participate in, so here goes!

I recently ordered the cook book Eat, Shrink and Be Merry. As a publicity stunt they sent me a second copy for free! I have been really enjoying this book, trying out recipes, looking at all of their funny pictures and cartoons, and drooling over things I haven't tried yet. I figured, if I'm enjoying this book, and I have an extra copy...maybe I should share the love!
To win a free copy of this book all you have to do is leave me a comment on one of my posts during the week. That's it! Really! I just want to hear from all those blog-lurkers out there who don't leave comments. I'm curious as to who's reading, and love to read what you have to say!

I will enter all names into a random drawing, and draw a winner! This drawing will take place next Sunday, August 15th. The winner will need to give me a mailing address to receive their prize.

I'm totally excited about this! I have never done a giveaway before, and I hope you all enjoy it!

I'll take this opportunity to bring up another subject. Goals. I want to set some fitness goals for myself, and if I tell all of you then it will hopefully keep me accountable.

1) Exercise 4 days a week, for at least 45 minutes
2) Ride my bike at least 2 days a week out of the 4
3) Strength train at least 2 days out of the 4

It's not a lot, I know, but I want to make exercise a habit. I have been doing pretty well, but it's always a huge effort to make myself get up and go. If you notice that I haven't posted about any exercise for a while, PLEASE harass me about it!!!

Here's another little tidbit for ya.

Fellow Foodie Bites

-This driveway fitness kick start looks like it will kick my butt!
-A quinoa salad from the Guilty Kitchen looks like a great summer lunch!
-And finally, these cheesy vegan stuffed peppers with collard greens sounds like a dinner I need to make ASAP!

Check out these links, and get to cookin'!

P.S. Don't forget to comment this week for a chance to win a free cookbook!!!

  1. Your recipes and food looks so yummy!!

I heard once that you could soak the corn in water for 30 minutes after you remove the silk...so I tried it and it was great because I didn't have to worry about burning the corn.

    Hope this helps!

  3. Thanks Jessica! I'll try that one next time! Not burnt corn would probably be a good thing.

P.S. I'll put your name in my giveaway drawing right now!
