A fellow blogger recently posted an amazing recipe for figgy spread, and then used it to make an even more drool-worthy pizza. She was looking for a different pizza dough recipe, so I posted this for her. Just thought I'd share with everyone while i'm at it!
We make this in our bread maker, but it can be made by hand too. The recipe is from "Fleischmann's Yeast Bread Machine Favorites". It'll make enough for one large pizza.
Add together 2/3 C water, 2Tbsp olive oil, 1/2 tsp salt, 2 C flour (sub 1 C WW flour if desired), 1 1/2 tsp yeast.
Mix well and proof (let rise in a warm place until doubled in size).
place dough on a lightly floured surface, kneading in a bit of flour to make it easy to handle. Grease your pizza pan and sprinkle it with cornmeal.
Roll out dough, and place on pan. Top as desired. Bake at 425* for 15-25 min or until done-when edges of crust are golden and cheese is bubbly.
You could sub other flours for half the white, but more than that and it might not rise well, and would turn out pretty dense. You could also sub different oils. Enjoy!
