Hello bloggy friends! Today is my second wedding anniversary! It also happens to be Canadian Thanksgiving. We lived, and were married, in California, and found out on moving here that our anniversary was right around, and sometimes on, Thanksgiving! Awesome! Now we get a huge delicious meal to celebrate!
As I am spending the day cooking, baking, and enjoying the company of my wonderful husband, I will just leave you with some of my favorite pictures from our wedding! I may have gone a tad overboard here, but I promise there will only be one wedding post! So, if wedding pics are not for you, you can skip this post. Otherwise....let the pictures begin!
This is the fabulous Cathy Burgett with Ben. She introduced us at culinary school, was our favorite teacher, kinda wanted to adopt Ben, and made our wedding cake! We love her!
My friend Corinne did hair and makeup, and another friend, Lucy Shea, did our photography. I have such awesome people in my life!
Me with my mom and sister. Rita was my maid of honor, and mom did my flowers and wedding decorations! Love those ladies!
More of moms handiwork. My bouquet smelled so good with all of those freesias!
Ben's dog Toby was the best man. He looked so cute in his bow tie! Unfortunately he decided to pee on the table cloth in the background just as I was walking down the aisle, but hey, he was excited, and when ya gotta go ya gotta go!
Aw! I kinda like that guy!
This is my grandpa Dave. He walked me down the aisle, donated plants for our decorations and centerpieces, and made me happy just by being there. I love my grandpa!
Just after we were married! Ben is usually a non-smiler, and isn't a fan of pictures. I guess he was happy or something!
Ok, this takes a bit of an explanation. We like pirates. And piratey things. SO, we decided to have a piratey wedding! Nothing over the top, we didn't say our vows in pirate lingo or anything, but we had treasure chests for people to find around the property with loot, candy and treasure. We also fired a mini cannon! It was our "unity canon", instead of a unity candle. We fired it together just after we were pronounced "man and wife". Hurray for explosions!
Both sides of the fam!
My brother (yes, he's tall!), me, mom, and sister.
We got married at our house, and took lots of picture down by the creek on this cute little bridge that Ben built. It was so nice getting to enjoy our home on this special day!
Us.
I love this one! Thank you Lucy!
Good friends and lovely ladies! I'm so glad I got to share this day with them!
It's culinary school all over again! Cathy Burgett, and my partner in baking, music and travel, Kelly!
Grandpa gave a nice toast. Look at all that love!
Here are some pics taken at our treasure chest spots. We provided pirate attire at each chest, for that authentic piratey look!
I think my aunt and uncles liked the idea! Aaaargh!
Two of our good friends. This is probably my favorite picture of them EVER! That strap-on parrot is the best!
My favorite picture of grandpa Dave. I think he liked the cake!
Um, I liked the cake too! Chocolate with hazelnut praline and white chocolate plastic? Oh yeah! Who needs a plate?!
Our car got tagged by some piratey wedding guests!
After a wonderful day filled with friends and family we drove off to the coast for a few days. We'll be going to Tofino to celebrate this year, but because of the holiday we are waiting until this coming weekend. It will be so fun, and I'll tell you all about it!
I love you Ben, here's to many more years together!
Happy Anniversary to you both! Have a great weekend away...Theresa
